CTV is ready for September with Summer series’ season finales and new Fall premieres. At the beginning of the month the seasons of COMEDY NOW!, COMEDY INC., FLASHPOINT, HOT IN CLEVELAND and MASTERCHEF all conclude, while new series including BLUE BLOODS begin. Also this month, CTV features a sneak peek of the new series, THE DEFENDERS. Returning CTV hits include DANCING WITH THE STARS, CASTLE, CRIMINAL MINDS, CSI, THE BIG BANG THEORY, GREY’S ANATOMY, THE MENTALIST, CSI: NY, and SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA. Dr. Oz finds himself in the unfamiliar role of patient when THE DR. OZ SHOW returns for its second season on Tuesday, September 7 at 5 p.m. ET on CTV (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times). As part of the second season premiere, the EMMY® AWARD-winning host, who turned 50 in June, undergoes a colonoscopy to emphasize the critical role they can play in detecting and preventing colon cancer. But there are some surprising results: Dr. Jon LaPook, gastroenterologist and chief medical correspondent for CBS News, administers the screening and reveals some news that will have a profound impact on Dr. Oz’s life, family and viewers. | Ratings: Pawn Stars $trike$ Gold and Dominates Canadian TV Landscape |

The premiere of Pawn Stars, season 3 on Tuesday, August 31 delivered the goods in a big way, achieving the highest audience ever for a series on History Television. Airing back-to-back at 9 and 9:30pm ET/PT, the new episodes were the #1 and #2 ranked programs on Specialty television that day, garnering record-breaking audience numbers with 577,000 (2+) and 276,000 (A25-54) at 9:00pm ET/PT and a triumphant 740,000 (2+) and 393,000 (A25-54) at 9:30pm ET/PT. The 9:30pm airing marked the highest audience numbers ever for a single episode on the channel, further asserting History Television’s AMA powerhouse status and unrelenting audience growth. Delivering two times more viewers than any other program on Specialty during its timeslot (2+), the episode of Pawn Stars at 9:30 pm ET/PT also beat out Being Erica (CBC; 188,000; 9-10pm) and the finale of Shaq Vs. (CTV; 674,000; 9-10 pm), featuring tween sensation Justin Bieber.

| General News: Astral's The Movie Network Behind the Best in Canadian Television With 27 Gemini Nominations |

Astral’s The Movie Network is pleased to announce its Canadian original programming has garnered a total of 27 nominations for the 25th Annual Gemini Awards, as was announced earlier today by The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. Nominations for The Movie Network include: nine nominations for the eight-part limited drama series Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures, a television adaptation of Vincent Lam’s award-winning book; eight nominations for the half-hour comedy Less Than Kind; seven nominations for the dark drama Durham County; two for miniseries The Phantom; and one nomination for the one-hour drama The Line.
