| Fall 2004 Highlights: Discovery Kids |
| Posted
on Wednesday, June 30, 2004 - 10:33 PM |
Here's the programming highlights for 2004-2005.
Discovery Kids is the channel for six to 12-year-olds, offering informative and entertaining programming with an emphasis on real life adventures, nature, science and wildlife. This fall, our schedule is loaded with exciting new shows as well as popular returning favourites.
Animal Magnetism
This documentary series examines the unique and powerful bond that exists between animals and humans. Whether profiling those who work tirelessly to protect and rescue animals or extraordinary pets that have enriched the lives of others, Animal Magnetism shows the deep connection between the two. With host Patti Sullivan.
Very Odd Jobs

(Professional Bubble Blower Tim Dillenbeck with his bubble machine)
How many ways are there to earn a living? Very Odd Jobs explores the question, travelling the globe in search of people with unusual occupations: butler school instructors, mountain carvers, an African safari guide, a gondola maker from Florence, the Goodyear Blimp pilot in California…
By profiling interesting people working in a range of rare, delightful, and very cool careers, Very Odd Jobs opens kids to the incredible array of career options available today.
Popular Mechanics for Kids
Each week hosts Elisha Cuthbert and Jay Baruchel bring technology to life through amazing real-world adventures.
Each episode of Popular Mechanics for Kids begins with an intriguing event that gets the kids thinking and the questions flying. How did they get that crane up to the top of that skyscraper they're building? How do astronauts live in space? Why is the sky blue? Elisha and Jay’s search for answers takes them all over North America to experience things most kids only dream about: manning the helm of a nuclear-powered submarine, inspecting the world's highest roller coaster and even crawling through a big city's underground sewer system!
My Brand New Life

Rural and urban Canadians, boys and girls, or French and English youth … are we really all that different? My Brand New Life breaks down perception barriers by helping kids see the world through the eyes of another. Kids learn to respect and appreciate others when they immerse themselves in a ‘brand new life,’ one very different from what they know.
Discovery Kids airs new episodes of the following series beginning in September: Mystery
Hunters; PE-TV; Road Scholars and Timeblazers.
Discovery Kids Fall schedule as well as premiere dates for the above shows will be released at a later time. Stay tuned to Channel Canada's Canadian Television's 2004-2005 Fall Season Preview.
