Ratings: House of Bryan Marathon Brings In Record-Breaking Audience

HGTV Canada is raising the roof after its April 2nd record-breaking day, achieving its highest audience to date with an AMA of 152,000 (2+)*. This day also marked its strongest day for this broadcast year against the younger A18-49 demo, garnering an impressive 82,000 AMA. HGTV continues to broaden its appeal, achieving impressive growth of 32% over last winter among A18-49, and is currently the #7 highest ranked specialty channel in Canada, up over its #9 ranking in fall 2009 (A18-49).

Ratings: THE MASTERS First Round Delivers Record Numbers for TSN and TSN.ca

Canadian golf fans had their eye on the Tiger last thursday as the First Round of THE MASTERS delivered big audience numbers for TSN and TSN.ca’s broadcasts. Preliminary overnight data from BBM Canada Research confirms TSN’s average audience for the networks First Round coverage was 742,000 setting a new benchmark as the most-watched First Round for THE MASTERS on TSN ever. Yesterday’s audience marked a 63% increase over last year’s First Round coverage on TSN.

Ratings: SPACE Recruits More Sci-fi Devotees as Nearly Half a Million Viewers Get on Board for STARGATE UNIVERSE

The explosive mid-season premiere of STARGATE UNIVERSE (SGU) Season 1.5 rocketed onto SPACE last Friday, pulling in an audience of 422,000 total viewers on April 2. Ratings: Ice Road Truckers Season 3 Premiere Wins Specialty Timeslot

The return of History Television’s top-rated series, Ice Road Truckers, was the show’s most-watched episode of all time, hauling-in over half a million viewers on Wednesday, March 31 at 9 pm ET/PT. This achievement marks the highest audience ever for a series on History Television, exceeding the channel’s high-water mark of the debut episode of Ice Road Truckers on March 4, 2009 at 512,000 (2+) and 245,000 (A25-54). The highest-rated program on Specialty television during its timeslot, the premiere episode of the third season delivered massive ratings to the channel with 597,000 (2+) viewers, 280,000 (A25-54) and 287,000 in the younger A18-49 category.

More than 1.38 million viewers tuned in for the series debut episode on Sunday, March 28 and an additional 1.27 million watched last night’s finale of this unlikely Canadian love story. Viewership peaked at 1.83 million.

Ratings: DANCING WITH THE STARS Season Premiere Sets New Ratings Record For /A\ With 2.1 Million Viewers

Last night, 2.1 million viewers made the most star-studded season premiere of DANCING WITH THE STARS yet a new benchmark for /A\. Peaking at 2.7 million viewers, the episode set a new ratings record for the network, besting previous record-holder AMERICA’S GOT TALENT (1.44 million/ Sept. 16, 2009). Hosted by Tom Bergeron and new co-host, Brooke Burke, the Season 10 premiere was the #1 program of the night on Canadian television. In the key Adult 18-49 and 25-54 demos the premiere delivered 832,000 and 816,000 viewers respectively.

Last night, CBC Television’s DRAGONS’ DEN came to a rolling boil with almost two million (1.956 million) viewers tuning in to watch The Road to Riches special season finale. Canadians from across the country watched the Dragons’ emotional journeys to self-made success. The compelling finale won its time slot among both 2+ and 25-54 viewers with a reach of almost 4.1 million watching some or all of the show, and almost two million among 25-54. The episode peaked at 2.565 million viewers. DRAGONS’ DEN finishes with a season average of 1.75 million per episode, reaching over one in three Canadians with a cumulative reach of almost 14 million viewers.*

Ratings: Over 1.1 Million Viewers Tune In to Blockbuster Movie 27 Dresses

Wedding season has begun on a high note on Showcase with 27 Dresses. The blockbuster nuptial flick delivered a total viewing audience of 1.1 million viewers (2+) between all three of its Saturday plays, making it the highest rated movie of all-time on Showcase. The 4pm play shattered the previously held record for any single-viewing cable premiere on the channel with 659,000 (2+) and 333,000 (25-54) viewers when compared to 594,000 (2+) and 292,000 (25-54) set by the cable premiere of Spiderman 3.
