It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, a new comedy series from FX, centres around the lives of four self-obsessed friends whose warped views and precarious judgment often get them into trouble. Showcase presents the Canadian premiere of seven half-hour episodes, created by and starring Rob McElhenney (Wonder Boys, Thirteen Conversations About One Thing), airing on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT beginning April 26, 2006.

New Programs: CHUM announces premiere date of Canada's Next Top Model as well as the judges selection

CHUM recently announced that Canada's Top Model, hosted by Battlestar Galactica's sexiest Cylon, Tricia Helfer will premiere May 31 on CITY-TV. The announcement also mentions that the show will repeat a week later on A-Channel as well as the description of each judges selected.

The British version of the hugely popular Project Runway gives 12 talented and hungry fashion designers the chance to see if they have what it takes to cut it in the highly competitive fashion industry. Set in fashion-forward London, England, Project Catwalk is a hip and entertaining series that will break fashion’s next big name. The series begins Monday, April 10 at 10 p.m. ET/PT and airs weekly in that timeslot on Life Network.

New Programs: Space to premiere U.K. series Hex in march

SPACE presents the exclusive North American premiere of Hex, a paranormal drama - hailed as the British Buffy the Vampire Slayer - about a young woman with supernatural powers. Hex's protagonist, Cassie, may be like Buffy Summers in that both characters possess special powers, but the tone of the series is more like Smallville and Angel - dark and sinister. The critically-acclaimed series, which premieres on March 8 and airs Wednesdays at 10pm ET on SPACE, stars Christina Cole (What a Girl Wants) as Cassie and Michael Fassbender (Band of Brothers, 300) as Azazeal.

Simon, Paula and Randy return for a blockbuster fifth season of American Idol as CTV revealed its January schedule today. One of television's most potent series, American Idol continued to attract more viewers than ever in Season Four on CTV. The series will return Tuesdays and Wednesdays on CTV beginning January 17. The ratings juggernaut will lead an updated schedule that also includes two new dramatic series on CTV, In Justice and Commander In Chief. Also on deck: awards show stalwart The Golden Globes, CTV Original Movie One Dead Indian, controversial documentary special Ice Storm: The Salé and Pelletier Affair and a Saturday night comedy line-up on CTV. The return of American Idol and the addition of new series, episodes and specials adds even more strength to the CTV schedule, which finished the 2005 Fall Season with 9 of Canada's Top 10 programs and 14 of the Top 20 (BBM and Nielsen Media Research).*
