| NHL reaches new national telecast agreements in Canada with TSN and CBC |

The National Hockey League announced today that it has reached agreements with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and The Sports Network (TSN) for national English-language telecast rights of NHL games in Canada. The agreements will continue the tradition of the national telecast of games in Canada for the next five years, beginning with the 2002-03 season and continuing through 2006-07.
Beginning next season, CBC and TSN, combined, will present national telecasts of a minimum of 112 regular-season games, up from 94 this season. In addition, Canadian viewers will see coverage of the Stanley Cup playoffs on both networks, including expanded cable coverage of second-round and third-round playoff games.

| Satellite Radio: Quebecor Media calls on CRTC about unfair competition by BCE |

In a letter sent today to Mr. Charles Dalfen, Chairman of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), Mr. Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and Chief Executive Officer of Quebecor Media, alleges that BCE is practicing “a blatant form of cross-subsidization” by allowing Bell ExpressVu to use substantial cash flow generated by a regulated enterprise, Bell Canada, to buy market share in Canada’s TV distribution market. Bell ExpressVu is a limited partnership in which BCE is the sole partner.

| Corus receives approval for controlling interest of Telelatino |

Corus Entertainment Inc. has received approval from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to acquire controlling interest of Telelatino Network Inc. Corus acquired shares that increase its total interest in the specialty channel to 50.5% from 20%. The shares were purchased in March 2001 from existing shareholders for a total of $11 million (CDN).

service Nickelodeon. The agreement calls for Nickelodeon to license to Nelvana the international distribution rights to two hit Nick series, Taina's World and The Fairly Odd Parents, as well as to renew the currently airing Nelvana-produced shows, Maggie and the Ferocious Beast and John Callahan's Pelswick.

CanWest Global Communications Corp., today called on the Government of Canada to proceed urgently to modernize the public policy and regulatory framework for broadcasting in Canada. CanWest's detailed recommendations were released today in the Company's submission to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage, in connection with the current review by the Standing Committee of the state of Canadian broadcasting.
