Programming Highlights: Hit Original Series FLASHPOINT Returns with Fall Premiere and a Brand-New Timeslot, Beginning Monday

On the heels of three Gemini wins, FLASHPOINT returns to kick off Premiere Week on CTV with a powerful new Fall premiere on Monday September 19 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV. Airing on a new date and time this Fall, the series settles into its regular timeslot on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET beginning September 27 on CTV, followed by the DANCING WITH THE STARS results show at 9 p.m. ET and brand-new series UNFORGETTABLE at 10 p.m. ET (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times). Since FLASHPOINT’s Season 4 debut in July, the series has averaged 1.51 million viewers, consistently winning the night on Fridays, making it a Top 10 series (#8) in Canada this summer.

Lloyd Robertson signed-off for the last time Thursday night on a high note, with his final broadcast now ranking as his most-watched newscast on record.* Last night’s edition of CTV NATIONAL NEWS WITH LLOYD ROBERTSON was watched by 2.1 million viewers, up 74% compared to its 2010/11 average audience. It was the most-watched program overall on Canadian television Thursday night, attracting 3.3 million unique viewers to the late-night, 11 p.m. broadcast.

Six will perform, but only one will win the title of Canada’s Favourite Dancer. For the first time in SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA history, it was announced live on CTV tonight that six dancers will remain in the competition to perform in next week’s final performance show. The Top 6 dancers are: CHRISTIAN Millette (28), a Ballroom dancer from Montreal, QC; JORDAN Clark (19), a Contemporary dancer from Tottenham, ON; LINDSAY Leuschner (19), a Contemporary dancer from Stouffville, ON; MATT Marr (20), a Contemporary from Quispamsis, NB; MELISSA Mitro (23), a Contemporary dancer from Richmond Hill, ON; and SHANE Simpson (24), a Jazz dancer from Thornhill, ON. With six dancers left standing, it was revealed that ADAM and DENITSA received the lowest number of votes and were eliminated from the competition. CTV Ottawa’s local weekend information programs are getting a new look including changes to two of the most-watched shows in Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec. CTV NEWS AT SIX with Kimothy Walker will expand to a full-hour program on Saturdays, beginning Saturday, Sept. 10. And, beginning Sunday, Sept. 11, REGIONAL CONTACT will move from its 6:30 p.m. timeslot on Saturdays, to 6:30 p.m. on Sundays.
