After performing "Crying" on last night's performance episode, Ashley Coulter shed tears tonight after being eliminated from Canadian Idol live on CTV. The 23-year-old cashier from Emeryville, ON became the fifth finalist to be eliminated after receiving the fewest votes out of a record 3 million cast following last night's first-ever "Unplugged" episode. Now, three men and two women remain, representing Saskatchewan, Ottawa-Gatineau, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

As announced earlier today, an expanded lineup of new celebrities will hip-twist and sashay for the best dance team crown in the third season of the blockbuster reality series. Winnipeg's first and only Top 10 competitor has been eliminated from Canadian Idol. Songwriter/producer Rob James, 28, received the fewest votes following last night's nationwide poll, it was revealed live tonight on CTV. In all, 2.6 million votes were cast following last night's live tribute to Classic Rock. James was the oldest competitor remaining in the competition. Now, six remain as the hunt for Canada's next Canadian Idol intensifies.

When his Cup-winning goal lifted Italy into the history books, it capped the most watched World Cup game ever in Canada. BBM reports a new single-game record as a national average audience of 2.84 million Canadians watched the final on CTV yesterday.

After more than two million votes were cast on Monday and Tuesday, the four semi-finalists - two males and two females - eliminated from Canadian Idol were revealed last night on CTV. Nathan Brown, 26 (Dewbury, AB); Jeremy Koz, 26 (Winnipeg, MB); Valérie Jalbert, 21 (Saint-Jérôme, QC) and Anna-Belle Oliva, 20 (Montréal, QC) received the fewest votes and will return to their hometowns tomorrow. Now, 18 remain in the hunt to become the one - the next Canadian Idol.
