Fresh TV Inc., an award-winning family entertainment company, won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Song – Main Title and Promo, for their animated tween TV series, 6TEEN. Big winners for creating the catchy theme song are composers and lyricists Anthony Vanderburgh and Don Breithaupt of DNA Music Productions.
The Awards were broadcast on the CW Television Network on August 30, 2009 from The Historic Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.
The popular series was created by Fresh TV Inc. executive producers, Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch and currently airs throughout the world including Cartoon Network in the US and TELETOON in Canada.
“The 6TEEN theme song has become a touchstone for an entire generation of tweens. It’s what the Brady Bunch theme song was for their parents. During six successful years of 6TEEN, kids have been singing the song around campfires and at sleepovers around the country.” said Tom McGillis, President, Fresh TV Inc.
6TEEN is an animated situation comedy set entirely in a gigantic shopping mall. It’s all about minimum wages and maximum laughs as the ensemble cast of six 16-year-old friends try to make it through their first part-time jobs and life as a teen. From stumbling through relationships to dealing with hideous uniforms, the larger-than-life mall provides its stars with the perfect venue to spread their wings - and take total nosedives. The series is distributed internationally by Nelvana and was funded by TELETOON and the Canadian Television Fund. 6Teen’s opening theme song and main title was produced by Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana Studio.
