Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) has once again been recognized as one of the top 25 employers in Manitoba. The announcement, which was made recently in the Winnipeg Free Press, was part of the annual Canada’s Top Employers survey done by Toronto-based Mediacorp Canada Inc.
“APTN recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary as Canada’s first and only Aboriginal television network, and as part of this milestone, we are pleased and very honoured to once again receive this coveted designation,” said Jean LaRose, APTN Chief Executive Officer. “We have always placed a high emphasis on the welfare and professional development of our employees and have in turn experienced the benefits of a loyal, dedicated workforce who so passionately share our vision with our dedicated viewers from all across Canada.”
APTN was one of 25 organizations recognized in the annual survey of Manitoba businesses, which looked at employers of any size, in the private or public sector, with their head offices or principal places of business in the province. This is the second time APTN has made the list, which was based partly on employee surveys.
APTN has its headquarters in Winnipeg, and employs approximately 130 people in offices across Canada.
