Roger Sportsnet recorded a 65 per cent increase in audience with its broadcast of the 2009 World Series, recording an overall average per game of 742,000 (PPM 2+).

The series featured the 2008 World Series champion Philadelphia Phillies and the always popular New York Yankees and was filled with dramatic stories like Cliff Lee’s masterful pitching performance in Game 1, Johnny Damon’s series-changing stolen base in Game 4 as well as the offensive heroics of World Series MVP Hideki Matsui in Game 6.
The audience numbers culminated with the 853, 000 who watched Wednesday night’s series finale as the Yankees powered past the Phillies 7-3 to win the World Series.
